Abstract

À semelhança de outros teatros de operações da Segunda Guerra Mundial, a guerra na Ásia e no Pacífico, mais do que um enfrentamento militar entre exércitos inimigos, foi sobretudo um confronto violento entre diferentes culturas e raças.Uma luta entre «homens brancos» e «homens amarelos», diferentes na sua fisionomia mas também com diferentes valores e entendimentos sobre o respeito merecido pelas forças oponentes aprisionadas durante os combates, sobre misericórdia e, também, sobre contenção nas ações.
