Abstract

Valorizando a diversidade e considerando o redesenho da cidade como processo sócio-cultural, o presente ensaio questiona a teorização da informalidade e da regeneração urbana de espaços urbanos “não classificados”. Através da conservação integrada sentimental e da “cidade banal” (Santos 2006) - contrariando a “pasteurização” da cidade (Brand 2009) e com base na antítese da crítica conceptual de Venturi (1972) -, foi selecionado como caso de estudo a zona ribeirinha oriental de Lisboa, por via de uma transformação urbana evolutiva e flexível. Através de uma abordagem sensível, de conhecimento específico do lugar e do seu património histórico-cultural, propõe-se um modo alternativo de gerir e de operar na cidade contemporânea explorando a relação do lugar com as dinâmicas urbanas, sob a perspetiva da arquitetura e do urbanismo.
