Abstract

In the current context, for organizations to be successful, identify business opportunities and gain competitive advantage ahead of their competition is crucial. Be an agile organization is essential to achieve these goals. However, the growth of organizations naturally increases its complexity leading to loss of agility, which affects performance and business. This thesis aims to study strategies for maintaining agility that accompany the growth and consequent increase in the complexity of organizations. This study was carried out in a consultancy organization and based on a sample consisting of twenty-one middle and top managers. Individual interviews were carried out in order to understand the main impacts, causes and perception of organizational agility. The results showed that the main causes for the loss of agility are the non-prioritization of organizational problems and the lack of uniformity and lack of definition of processes, which have as main impacts the loss of efficiency, business, employee motivation and the increase of delivery time. In order to increase organizational agility, actions to prioritize the organization's internal problems were identified: defining and standardizing processes, unifying values and practices and creating coaching and training programs to consolidate concepts. These actions aim to increase efficiency, responsiveness to customers and increase business and profitability.
