Abstract

This dissertation proposes the investigation, analysis and development of a proposal in confrontation with the problem that persists in this territory over time, this being the negligent abandonment of most of the commercial spaces of the streets of secondary hierarchy. Consequently, there is an increase in pedestrian flow, perhaps even exaggerated along the streets of higher hierarchy, and the neglect and abandonment of other streets and public spaces, thus creating spaces with smaller experiences, comfort, hygiene and public safety. After analyzing the evolution and development of the city, the proposal of an urban plan is presented, with the aim and objective of revitalizing and restoring neglected commercial spaces and the public roads of secondary hierarchy adjacent to them. Thus, through the extension of the pedestrian commercial route of the iconic Rua dos Pescadores, which begins to culminate in the once important Praça 9 de Julho, where the first commercial cent of this territory is located, it becomes possible to recover the experiences, commercial spaces and public spaces once important to the territory under analysis, in confrontation with the identified problem.
