Abstract

Este trabalho incide no estudo de dez famílias de acolhimento que fazem parte do programa de acolhimento familiar da Associação Mundos de Vida, em Vila Nova de Famalicão. No sentido de perceber as práticas e representações destas famílias, relativamente ao acolhimento de crianças e jovens, o estudo analisa várias dimensões da esfera familiar e social: a estrutura familiar, as atitudes face ao acolhimento, a organização do quotidiano doméstico, as redes sociais de apoio e a influência da classe social na configuração das práticas e representações. Optou-se pela realização de uma investigação qualitativa utilizando a técnica da análise de conteúdo. É objectivo desta investigação compreender de que forma as representações das famílias de acolhimento se relacionam com as praticas de acolhimento de crianças e jovens. Através de entrevistas semidirectivas organizadas em grupos de questões, foi possível estudar as diferentes dimensões da realidade social dos actores e, permitir demonstrar que nalgumas dimensões, existem diferenças determinantes entre as famílias estudadas.

This study focuses on the study of ten foster families that are part of the foster care program of the Association Mundos de Vida, in Vila Nova de Famalicão. In order to understand the practices and representations of these families, the study examines various dimensions of family and social sphere: the family structure, the attitudes towards the reception, the organization of the domestic every day, the social nets of support and influence of social class in the configuration of practices and performances. It was opted to the accomplishment of a qualitative inquiry using the technique of the content analysis. The aim of this research is to understand how the representations of foster families are related to the practice of foster care of child and youth. Through organized semi directive interviews in groups of questions it was possible to study the different dimensions of the performer’s social reality. The conclusions allow indicating determinative differences, in some dimensions, between the studied families.
