Abstract

As alterações ocorridas na sociedade ao longo dos tempos têm originado exigências e conhecimentos cada vez maiores por parte dos protagonistas das organizações. Uma escola eficiente é uma organização composta por pessoas com competência para desempenhar as suas funções, por isso, o nível de competências representa um dos fatores críticos de sucesso para qualquer organização, em particular nas escolas, e refletir-se-á no desempenho e êxito do projeto educativo. O Diretor Pedagógico, sendo elemento fundamental no sucesso educativo, deve delinear objetivos claros e que reflitam consenso e coesão, sendo necessário dispor de um nível de proficiência elevado e de um conjunto de competências a aplicar no desempenho da sua função, no sentido do cumprimento desses objetivos. É na sequência destes factos que se insere a proposta de trabalho, que tem como tema a elaboração do “Perfil de Competências do Diretor Pedagógico na Escola Profissional”. O objeto de estudo é uma escola profissional, situada no distrito de Santarém. Tendo em conta que o tema ainda não foi muito explorado, optou-se pela metodologia de estudo de caso. Partindo da análise documental e qualitativa, foram identificadas as características e com base no modelo de Zwell, foi elaborado o perfil de competências. Os resultados obtidos levam-nos a concluir que o perfil de competências poderá servir de suporte ao modelo de Gestão de Competências.

The changes that have taken place in society over time have given rise to increasing demands and knowledge on the part of the organizations' protagonists. An efficient school is an organization made up of people who are competent to perform their duties, so the level of hability is one of the critical success factors for any organization, particularly schools, and will be reflected in the performance and success of the educational project. The Pedagogical Director, being a fundamental element in the educational success, must outline clear objectives that reflect consensus and cohesion, being necessary to him to have a high level of proficiency and a set of competencies to be applied in the performance of these goals. Following these facts emerges this work proposal, which has as its theme the elaboration of the "Profile of Competencies of the Pedagogical Director in the Professional School". The object of study is a vocational school, located in the district of Santarém. Considering that the theme has not yet been explored, we have chosen a case study methodology. Based on the documentary and qualitative analysis, the characteristics were identified and based on Zwell’s model the competence profile was elaborated. The results obtained lead us to conclude that the competency profile can support the Competence Management model.
