O campo da tauromaquia

Abstract

No campo da tauromaquia, «uns não abdicam do uso das mãos e do esforço físico, outros não descem do cavalo». A tauromaquia enquanto espaço de relações sociais e simbólicas de inegável peso na sociedade portuguesa, organiza-se em tomo da oposição entre o toureio a pé e o toureio a cavalo, cujos protagonistas decalcam, sob formas específicas do campo criadas nas suas lutas internas, a estrutura das relações entre as classes sociais. Esta a principal conclusão a retirar do estudo das práticas e das simbologias toureiras à luz do "conceito de campo" de Bourdieu que igualmente permite destacar as formas de hierarquização e organização dos agentes envolvidos na arte de lidar loiros e de apreciar (conhecer) o toureio.
