Análisis de las dificultades en el aprendizaje de la Histología

Abstract

La Histología tiene como objeto el estudio de la estructura microscópica de animales y plantas, y la relación estructural y funcional de los distintos componentes para formar órganos. Alcanzar estas competencias requiere mucho tiempo y esfuerzo por parte del estudiante, pues a la dificultad de la interpretación de los más de 200 tipos celulares que componen nuestro organismo, se añade el conocimiento de la técnica histológica y el manejo del microscopio que requiere su estudio. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar los aspectos que mayores dificultades presentan al alumnado para conseguir un aprendizaje eficaz y qué estrategias de enseñanza se podrían utilizar para mejorarlo. Para ello, hemos elaborado un cuestionario destinado a 101 estudiantes matriculados en la asignatura de Histología, del Grado en Biología. Las respuestas se analizaron tanto desde el punto de vista cualitativo como cuantitativo. A la luz de este análisis, el tejido nervioso y los tejidos vegetales son los que mayores dificultades presentan. En el primer caso, por la terminología y dificultad de los conceptos; en el segundo caso, los motivos son el tiempo dedicado a la explicación de los contenidos y el estilo del profesor. Estos datos nos permiten desarrollar estrategias didácticas para mejorar el aprendizaje.
