Abstract

This article focuses on the study of the archaeological record from the cave La Cova de la Pastora (Alcoy, Alicante) and its insertion into the territorial framework. The main results point to a ritual use of the cave particularly developed between the end of the 5th and the 4th century BC. La Cova de la Pastora cave would be a ritual space in relation to the territorial limits and the pathways of the Iberian territory of the Canal, dominated by El Puig of Alcoi. Its funerary use during the Late Prehistoric period, some thousand years before, must have been relevant to the ritual use of the cave by the Iberians.

IV a.C.

V i el s. IV a.C.
