Herramientas colaborativas para la enseñanza de asignaturas técnicas

Abstract

En el presente artículo se describen distintas experiencias prácticas de los autores sobre la aplicación de herramientas informáticas colaborativas y redes sociales para la enseñanza de asignaturas de grados en ingeniería y en asignaturas de tipo técnico en enseñanza secundaria. En particular, se ha usado una combinación de la red social Twitter junto con herramientas ofimáticas on-line como, por ejemplo, Google Docs, así como herramientas libres de diseño gráfico. Se han realizado experimentos en varios grupos de estudiantes entre los que siempre existía un grupo de control en el que no se ha aplicado la metodología propuesta para comparar y validar los resultados obtenidos. Estos resultados muestran que, en general, los estudiantes obtienen mejores calificaciones con los métodos colaborativos. Además, se han realizado pruebas que demuestran que el aprendizaje de los estudiantes a los que se aplicó el método colaborativo es más significativo, es decir, que se retiene mejor con el paso del tiempo respecto de los estudiantes con los que no se usó este método. Por otro lado, las encuestas de opinión realizadas reflejan que los estudiantes se sienten cómodos con el método propuesto.
