Delicuencia juvenil y estilos educativos parentales

Abstract

Different parenting styles and their impact on children's behaviour have been widely studied. So has been their relationship with crime and antisocial behaviour in children. This study aims to analyse the relationship between juvenile delinquency and parenting styles which parents use, therefore more inconsistent and lax educational practices are more often accompanied by antisocial behaviours. To gather information, a review of 342 case files of juvenile offenders has been conducted. After collecting data records the possible relationship between each of the styles used by parents (Democratic, Authoritarian, Permissive, and Neglectful) and its relationship to juvenile delinquency has been analyzed. The analysis of the results allows us to identify the teaching styles that are most closely related to crime and recidivism in juvenile offenders.
