Abstract

This paper attempts to answer the question of whether the phenomenology of corporate culture involves a real need for empirical study within the field of business management, or if rather it is simply a fashion in analysis developed by a few interested consultors and advisors. We shall draw, besides from our own ideas and experiences, from the opinions and comments by a large number of authors through a review of the literature. After examining the features of corporate culture, the functions it may develop and its effectiveness, we come to the conclusion that it is a key factor in managerial procedure.
