El asociacionismo de inmigrantes

Abstract

El incuestionable aumento de la población inmigrante en los años recientes en toda España, junto a su mayor presencia y visibilidad social, plantea numerosos debates relacionados con la dimensión pública de los propios inmigrantes en nuestra sociedad, siendo un tema recurrente la participación activa y creciente de los inmigrantes a través de organizaciones asociativas que faciliten su mejor inclusión, aumenten su compromiso cívico y permitan dar respuesta a sus necesidades sentidas. De esta forma, suelen otorgarse cualidades imprecisas a todo lo relacionado con las asociaciones de inmigrantes, asignándolas un valor y unas potencialidades alejadas con frecuencia de sus condiciones reales, en la medida que son estas organizaciones poseen potencialidades y limitaciones específicas, que deben ser tenidas a en cuenta para no generar falsas expectativas. Por ello, es importante conocer los distintos perfiles organizativos que se han ido conformando entre la población inmigrante así como las tipologías que se han generado, tratando de comprender mejor las causas de este modelo propio y específico, así como las particularidades de las dinámicas asociativas entre la población extranjera. Todo ello con el propósito de explorar mejor las perspectivas futuras de participación, inclusión e incorporación ciudadana de esta comunidad, junto a sus potencialidades reales en las acciones de codesarrollo.
