Abstract

Este libro contiene el conjunto de los 73 artículos en prensa que, con el título de “Crónicas desde Segobriga” se publicaron en el diario "El Día", en su edición de Cuenca, entre julio de 2004 y diciembre de 2006. En esos dos años y medio, con una periodicidad que en principio debía ser semanal, se fue dando cuenta de curiosidades de las excavaciones, avances de resultados, anécdotas, etc. del día a día de los trabajos que se iban desarrollando en Segobriga por parte de un equipo dirigido por Juan Manuel Abascal, Martín Almagro Gorbea y Rosario Cebrián. La intensa actividad arqueológica de aquellos años, con grandes campañas que se prolongaban durante 4, 5 y hasta seis meses, dieron como resultado la excavación final del foro, de la basílica adjunta, del circo, de la gran necrópolis que ese edificio había amortizado, de diversas calles en el casco urbano, de la basílica visigoda situada extramuros, etc. El sinfín de noticias que esa actividad generaba se fue divulgando por este cauce de la prensa regional en paralelo a la publicación profesional de los resultados.
