La globalización es un concepto histórico e históricamente determinado, pero lo que importa es conocer ese momento histórico que le da significado ya que es de ahí de donde se podrán derivar los posibles efectos sobre los problemas sociales y las políticas sociales. Esta contribución se va a dividir en tres partes. En la primera se presentarán algunos diagnósticos sobre la coyuntura; en la segunda, se intentarán descubrir algunas realidades sociales para lo que se utilizarán los resultados de una investigación internacional; en la tercera parte se verán algunos de los efectos sobre las políticas sociales y se mostrarán algunas posibles alternativas.
Globalization is a concept wich historically has been determine; but what is matters is to know the historical moment that gives its meaning, because in that way we can understand its effects on social troubles and social policies. This paper has three parts: first, presents some diagnosis of the juncture; second, tries to discover some social realities, based on international research; and third, shows are view of social policies and some alternatives.
