Aprendizaje por refuerzo para robots en el espacio

Abstract

Este proyecto busca investigar el potencial del aprendizaje por refuerzo (RL) para mejorar las capacidades de los robots que operan en el espacio. Las condiciones únicas que se encuentran en los entornos espaciales presentan numerosos desafíos para los robots, incluida la necesidad de realizar tareas complejas en escenarios dinámicos en condiciones inciertas. Si bien los enfoques de control tradicionales pueden ser suficientes para abordar estos desafíos, RL brinda una solución prometedora al permitir que los robots aprendan de su experiencia y mejoren con el tiempo. En este proyecto se propone la aplicación de RL para una de las muchas tareas realizadas por robots en el espacio. En este proyecto se aborda la tarea de posicionamiento de un brazo flotante que pueda usarse en el futuro para tareas de manipulación en el espacio (por ejemplo, reparación, actualización o reabastecimiento de combustible).
