Abstract

Este capítulo explora las cátedras institucionales atendiendo al marco de la transferencia de conocimiento. En particular, pretende cuantificar y describir las cátedras vinculadas a las universidades públicas con grados en comunicación, por un lado, e identificar las aportaciones concretas que realizan, por otro. Se seleccionaron 28 cátedras extraídas de 15 universidades, tras una primera búsqueda a través del servicio QEDU en mayo de 2022. Además de revisar la normativa de cada universidad sobre esta fórmula de colaboración con otras entidades, se recogió información de cada cátedra (año de inicio, vigencia y actividades realizadas) según la facilitada principalmente en su sitio web. Este estudio confirma que se trata de una fórmula que cumpliría con las cuatro características básicas destacadas de la transferencia. La variedad detectada en torno a las cátedras respaldaría, además, la idea de estar ante canales por los cuales discurren actividades diversas que precisan las competencias del personal investigador o el uso de las infraestructuras de las universidades. Su mayor presencia en los últimos años apunta a que pueden estar proporcionando soluciones para formalizar algunas de las acciones de transferencia de difícil reconocimiento en los sistemas actuales, aunque también se debe presuponer margen para el crecimiento, por el carácter transversal y la relevancia de la Comunicación en las sociedades actuales.
