Adopción y escuela. Un nuevo reto educativo

Abstract

During the last years the number of adoptions has increased espectaculary in our country, especially with the development of international adoption, a phenomenon that it put us at the head of international adoptions worldwide. This rapid growth has caught us unawares and the different systems of care for children, and especially educational, encounter difficulties to adapt to this new reality. In this paper we present some evidence detected in the studies by the authors about children adopted in Spain and abroad and it concludes on the possible difficulties of adaptation of these children to the school environment as a result of their previous experiences and the tremendous effort that these children should be made to adapt to these new environments, especially when they come from other countries. It also identifies possible strategies to address.
