Ciberacoso en el ámbito universitario. Diferencias por sexo y curso académico

Abstract

El objetivo general del presente estudio fue analizar los índices de prevalencia de ciberacoso en universitarios, así como comprobar si existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas en ciberacoso atendiendo al sexo y curso académico de los alumnos. Los participantes fueron 623 estudiantes universitarios. La edad de los participantes osciló entre los 18 y 52 años. Se les administró de forma colectiva el European Cyberbullying Intervention Project Questionnaire para la evaluación del ciberacoso y se recogieron datos sociodemográficos de la muestra (sexo y curso académico). Los datos indicaron que el 21.2% de la muestra refirió haber sido víctima de ciberacoso, mientras que el 17.9% manifiestó haber agredido a algún compañero a través de internet. Con respecto a las diferencias de sexo, los chicos obtuvieron medias más elevadas en ciberagresión, siendo estas diferencias estadísticamente significativas con respecto a las chicas. Asimismo, los resultados mostraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en ciberagresión entre el alumnado de 2º y 3º curso y entre 3º y 4º curso, presentando medias más elevadas en 2º curso y en 4º curso, respectivamente. Estos datos ofrecen información relevante para el establecimiento de programas preventivos y de intervención ante el ciberacoso en este alumnado.
