Los Saladares: fenicios e indígenas en el Bajo Segura

Abstract

Los Saladares es uno de los yacimientos protohistóricos más destacados del Sureste peninsular. A pesar del tiempo transcurrido desde las intervenciones arqueológicas de los años 70 del siglo XX no ha perdido actualidad, como demuestra las continuas referencias en monografías y artículos sobre el Bronce Final y el Periodo Orientalizante, etapa de indudable interés, magníficamente reflejada en Los Saladares. No obstante, desde el punto de vista científico se hacía necesario retomar su investigación con nuevos planteamientos, al tiempo que proceder a su recuperación patrimonial, mediante la musealización del conjunto. Todo ello en el marco del proyecto de investigación que venimos desarrollando en el sur de la provincia de Alicante, con actuaciones en yacimientos tan emblemáticos como Peña Negra, en Crevillent, y La Fonteta, en Guardamar del Segura, que pretende estudiar las transformaciones culturales que se produjeron en el Sureste a lo largo del Bronce Final, el Hierro Antiguo y el proceso de iberización, con especial atención al urbanización, el cambio tecnológico, económico, social e ideológico, a fin de comprender las relaciones entre las comunidades protohistóricas y las interacciones bidireccionales entre las diferentes comunidades, posiblemente reflejadas en la existencia de instalaciones mixtas.
