Abstract

The Iberian and Roman site of La Picola (Santa Pola, Alicante) is a small part of Portus Ilicitanus, the port area of the Roman colonia of Ilici. The discovery of archaeological remains on this plot in the mid-80s of the last century involved the successive participation of different teams that brought to light, among other vestiges of the past, two elements as iconic as the Iberian fortress of La Picola and the garum factory. After a 10-year hiatus, we have resumed archaeological research in this outstanding site, obtaining results that complement those of the previous campaigns.
