Slitenhetssyndrom i lys av en psykomotorisk undersøkelse

Abstract

Hensikten med studien var å belyse hvordan man gjennom en psykomotorisk undersøkelse kan forstå vedvarende slitenhet som helseproblem. Et overordnet mål var å bidra til kunnskap om hvordan en psykomotorisk undersøkelse kan utvide forståelsen for slitenehetssyndrom. Studiens empiri er fra en observasjon og videoobservasjon av en psykomotorisk undersøkelse, samt semistrukturert intervju med både pasient og fysioterapeut. Utvalg: én fysioterapeut med kompetanse innen psykomotorisk fysioterapi og én kvinnelig pasient med vedvarende slitenhet. Funnene fra undersøkelsen viser hvordan den psykomotoriske kroppsforståelsen og tilnærming til pasientens helseproblem er forankret i kroppens flertydighet. Slitenheten blir sett i lys av pasientens historie og levde liv, samtidig som framtiden og hennes livssituasjon blir tatt i betraktning. Slitenheten pasienten opplever kan forstås som en bilde på en belastet kropp; kroppen er et forsvarsverk både overfor andre personer og for egne følelser, den er bærer av bekymring og usikkerhet, og samtidig en kropp i kontinuerlig beredskap. Gjennom undersøkelsen fremmes det bedre kontakt med egen kropp og kroppslige signaler, og samtidig legges det til rette for nye kroppslige erfaringer. På den måten kan et mer hensiktsmessig bevegelses- og vanemønster etableres.
