Regional verdiskaping : mangfold eller spesialisering?

Abstract

Oppgaven drøfter klyngefenomenet med et fokus på eksternaliteter. Et skille presenteres mellom de geografisk betingede Jacobs urbaniserings eksternaliteter mellom sektorer, og Marshalls lokaliserings eksternaliteter internt for sektorer. Identifisering av de ulike typene klyngeeksternalitetert blir drøftet ved hjelp av teoretisk modellering og eksemplifiserer ved en empirisk tilnærming. Videre gjøres det forsøk på å gi svar på hvordan man kan gå frem for å fremme produktivitet som er en følge av klyngeeksternalitetenes positive effekter. Substitusjonsmuligheter for spesialiserte produksjonsfaktorer og relevant arbeidskraft er viktige faktorer for om regioner og sektorer opplever økt produktivitet som følge av tilstedeværelse av eksternaliteter.
