Beredskap i landskap

Abstract

Prosjektbeskrivelse: Kirkenes, en by i Sør-Varanger, ligger i en strategisk viktig region nær grensen til Russland. Tradisjonelt har Kirkenes fungert som en bro mellom Norge og Russland, men de siste årene har dette endret seg betydelig, i lys av den pågående krigen i Ukraina. Byens rolle som grenseby er nå utfordret, og innbyggerne må navigere i et komplekst landskap preget av fraflytting, stengte grenser og politiske spenninger. I denne konteksten er beredskap et nøkkelbegrep. Hva er beredskap i landskap? I dette prosjektet utforsker jeg hvordan beredskap ikke bare kan omhandle militær styrke, men at å skape bolyst kan være en form for beredskap. For å svare på denne utfordringen har jeg utviklet et prosjekt i et tidligere attraktivt rekreasjonsområde i byen. Prosjektet tar for seg hverdagslandskapene i en urban og nær skala, med mål om å integrere lokale elementer, øke biologisk mangfold og fremme lokalt samarbeid og kunnskapsdeling. Prosjektet har som mål å gjøre Kirkenes til et mer attraktivt sted å bo. Dette er avgjørende for å opprettholde en stabil og robust lokalbefolkning og sikre byens rolle som en viktig del av Norges beredskap i nordområdene.
