Abstract

I forhold til den sosialfaglige diskursen om seksualitet gjør universitetslektor i sosialt arbeid Hans Knutagård tre viktige grep med boka Sexualitet och socialt arbete. Det ene er at seksualitet tematiseres. Det andre er at seksualitet ikke behandles som et problem, først og fremst. Det tredje er at Knutagård behandler seksualitet som et anliggende for oss alle, og ikke bare for seksuelle minoriteter. Ved hjelp av disse grepene gir Knutagård et viktig bidrag til at seksualitet kan tematiseres innenfor en hel rekke ulike kurs på sosialarbeiderutdanningene, og ikke bare i kurs som tematiserer seksualitet eller marginalisering og anti-diskriminering. Knutagårds bok omhandler noe så sjeldent, i en nordisk kontekst, som seksualitet og sosialt arbeid. Internasjonalt er seksualitet dekket bedre. I England har man en lengre tradisjon i utgivelse av lærebøker om seksualitet og sosialt arbeid, og også i USA, Canada og Australia er seksualitet og sosialt arbeid tematisert i et større omfang enn i den norske og nordiske sosialfaglige diskursen. Dette er den første læreboken i Sverige om seksualitet og sosialt arbeid. Forhåpentligvis bidrar Knutagårds bok til at seksualitet i større grad blir tematisert også i det norske sosialfaglige feltet.
