Abstract

Dagens samfunn stiller store krav til organisasjoner og deres risikohåndtering. Med en økende grad av globalisering i verdenssamfunnet og med større usikkerhet, blir det stadig mer utfordrende å håndtere uønskede hendelser. Risikostyring og organisatorisk resiliens er derfor viktig for en organisasjon å kunne beherske og utvise for å unngå at uønskede hendelser fører til tap av liv, økonomi, materiell, natur og miljø. Særlig viktig er det å beskytte liv og helse blant arbeidstakere, og de meste utsatte gruppene innenfor arbeidslivet er helsearbeidere og særlig ambulansepersonellet. Videre så er det også et behov for mer forskning på sammenhengene mellom risikostyring og organisatorisk resiliens. Dette danner bakgrunn for studien, og studiens analytiske rammeverk består av risikostyringsteori og teori om organisatorisk resiliens av Karl E. Weick og Kathleen M. Sutcliffe. Studiens problemstilling er: Hvordan kan risikostyring påvirke organisatorisk resiliens i ambulanseavdelingen ved UNN Helseforetak? Studiens empiri består av intervjudata fra informanter i ambulanseavdelingen ved UNN Helseforetak, samt dokumentanalyse av et risikostyringsdokument fra avdelingen. Studien har avdekket at det fra risikostyringsprosessen er aktivitetene kommunikasjon, overvåking, risikohåndtering, registrering og risikovurdering som underbygger prinsippene for organisatorisk resiliens. Funnen fra studien er også i tråd med annen forskning som beskriver at organisatorisk resiliens er bygget på god risikovurdering og -håndtering, samt overvåking og kommunikasjon om risiko.
