This risk assessment report covers both the environmental impacts of aquaculture and fish welfare, and emphasizes overall issues that the authorities need advice about. The methods used for risk assessment are constantly evolving, and are updated in this year’s report. In the future, it is desirable to be able to perform regional risk assessments where the different risk factors are seen in context of each other. This report is commissioned by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and prepared in dialogue with the Directorate of Fisheries and the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, with input from the Norwegian Environment Agency.
