Man skal ikke ta alt for god fisk - En studie om hvordan elever utøver kritisk literacy i møte med nye tekster på internett.

Abstract

Dette er en masteroppgave som er en kvalitativ studie hvor problemstillingen lyder som følgende: «Hvordan utøver elevene kritisk literacy i møte med nye tekster?». Vi har avgrenset studien ved å fokusere på hvordan elevene vurderer avsenderen av en tekst, og om de kan reflektere rundt underliggende motiv. Vi har gjennomført fire undervisningsøkter i en klasse på tiende årstrinn, der fokuset har vært kritisk literacy. Etter undervisningen utførte vi semistrukturert intervju med seks elever. For å finne ut om elevene utøver kritisk literacy, plukket vi ut tre sammensatte tekster fra internett som la rammene for intervjuet slik at vi kunne få et innblikk i elevenes vurderingsprosess. Vi har brukt teori om retorikk og kommunikasjonsteori for å måle hvordan elevene utøver kritisk literacy. Vi har funnet ut at elevene klarer å vurdere avsender og underliggende motiv i en tekst dersom elevene blir oppfordret til det. Studien viser også at modellering og eksplisitte spørsmål fungerer som gode undervisningsmetoder for å utvikle elevenes literacy.
