Abstract

Som psykiatrisk sykepleier i kommunalpsykisk helsevern og i arbeid med mennesker som er psykisk syke, har min interesse for hvorfor vold og truende atferd er tilstede økt. hensikten med studien er å bidra til økt forståelse og kunnskap om hvilke utfordringer sykepleierne møter i situasjoner med vold og trusler. Metoden er kvalitativ og deltakerne er psykiatriske sykepleiere. Datainnsamling ved bruk av intervju. Funn i studien viser at erfaringskunnskap, grenser, personlig egenskaper hos sykepleieren har betydning for å forbygge aggresjon. Videre er funn som viser manglende oppfølging etter vold av ansatte, manglende rutiner vedrørende sikkerhet. Konklusjon relasjons fokus, erfaringskunnskap, kollega støtte og oppfølging av ledelse etter hendelser med vold mot ansatte var sentralt hos sykepleierne i studien.
