Abstract

En el marco de la necesidad por gestionar los recursos hídricos y evitar la contaminación de los cuerpos de agua se exige que la depuración de las aguas residuales tome la importancia debida y para aquellas depuradoras que se acerquen al límite de su capacidad instalada encuentren alternativas que les permita operar ante nuevas condiciones. Esta situación motiva la realización de este análisis, en el que se comparan desde una perspectiva ambiental a las alternativas de depuración biológica por Reactor Biológico de Membrana o por Reactor de Lecho Móvil con Biopelícula al proceso de fangos activos que actualmente está en operación en una depuradora de Guanajuato, México, a través del Análisis de Ciclo de Vida con la metodología ReCiPe midpoint y endpoint. Con ella se encontró que el sistema por membrana es el que ofrece un mejor rendimiento respecto a los indicadores que afectan de forma directa los recursos hídricos, pero con el panorama global de endpoint la opción de lecho móvil resulta la que mejor relación energía consumida-depuración presenta, siendo esta la opción más adecuada desde el punto de vista ambiental para su aplicación
