Abstract

Forest ecosystemsplay a fundamental role in maintaining balance on the planet, as forests provide services that are indispensable for life. However, these services are not only important from an ecological standpoint but also hold significant value in maintaining human well-being. To address these challenges, this work implements the methodology of the United Nations' System of Environmental-Economic Accounting—Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EA) in order to interrelate the services provided by forest ecosystemsand forest condition. Furthermore, it aims to provide a foundation for decision-making focused on forest conservation and the improvement of current policies, ensuring that forests continue to provide services in the long term.
