Non suicidal self injury (NSSI) has been of great concern in recent decades, which has led many researchers to develop specific intervention programs for this issue . Initially , NSSI were associated with borderline personality disorder; however, later this behavior was observed in several disorders. The present consists of developing an intervention program to reduce NSSI. To achieve this, strategies from from two of the most effective programs (Cutting Down Program, CDP, and Emotion Regulation Individual Therapy for Adolescents, ERITA) have been collected to counteract the mixed evidence in this field. The objective is to reduce and/or eliminate self injury in children aged 13 17 years through six modules where the understanding of the functions of NSSI, acceptance, self esteem and the development of alternative emotional regulati on strategies are contemplated. Parets are also included in the process through a psychoeducation module that covers the following aspects: understanding the functions of NSSI, parenting styles, validation as a tool and reinforcement. This programme has a control group to check the effectiveness of the programme and all participants will be evaluated at four points in time : pre treatment, post treatment, at 3 months and at 6 months.
