Authors: González Alonso, Clara;

Abstract

This proposal addresses the issue of youth gangs in educational centers in Madrid and proposes an educational intervention program to promote social skills and healthy leisure alternatives. The theoretical framework of the article explores the origin of youth gangs in Spain, their prevalence in working-class neighborhoods on the outskirts of Madrid, and their connections to Latin gangs in South America. The importance of socialization during adolescence and how peer interactions influence the development of young people are also analyzed. In methodological terms, cooperative learning and an experiential, hands-on approach are highlighted to promote healthy interactions among students. The article concludes by proposing an educational intervention program that promotes social skills and healthy leisure alternatives. The aim is to contribute to the improvement of conditions for students in Madrid's educational centers, especially those involved in youth gangs. The goal is to prevent and reduce violence, addictions, and self-destructive behaviors, promoting a safe and conducive environment for the comprehensive development of young people.
