Educando nuestras emociones : programa de inteligencia emocional

Abstract

The main aims paper is to explain what Emotional Intelligence (EI) is, according to some of the most renowned experts in this field. Then go through a brief analysis about the concept’s origin and evolution, as well as an overview on some of the most popular theories. After that, highlighting the importance of EI within the educational context, emphasizing why high-school has proven to be the best place to start teaching it, especially in the early adolescence. Within this range, 12 to 13 years-old, which is the age that has been used to develop the EI Program. This program encompasses activities whose goal is to work on the students’ emotional competences, based on Bisquerra’s EI theory, from an active, practical and cooperative point of view.
