El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar un programa de intervención temprana psicoeducativo para familias de personas que padezcan trastorno mental grave o severo. Se propone una intervención de doce sesiones para ofrecer apoyo a los familiares desde el primer contacto con el sistema público de salud mental. Además, actúa como recurso de enlace o puente a posteriores profesionales o instituciones de la red pública de la Comunidad de Madrid. Este apoyo se traduce en ofrecer información a los familiares, habilidades de afrontamiento y solución de problemas en formato grupal, basado en las aportaciones surgidas tras una revisión en la literatura científica. En este trabajo se integran diferentes aproximaciones teóricas como el modelo psicoeducativo de Anderson (1983) y el modelo de intervención conductual de Fallon y Liberman (1983). El programa incorpora a los anteriores modelos estudios recientes, relacionados con la situación y la intervención familiar en patología mental severa. Se destaca de todo lo anterior la importancia del trabajo con el estigma, los sentimientos de culpa, implicación excesiva y hostilidad que suelen aparecer en este colectivo. A esto se le suma el entrenamiento en asertividad como principal factor de protección y la mejora de estos cuidadores informales en calidad de vida, descrita esta última según García (2016).
The objective of this work is to present a psychoeducational early intervention program for families of people who suffer a severe mental disorder. It is propose a twelve session intervention to offer support to the family members since their first contact with public mental health system. Also, it acts like a link resource to following professionals of Madrid public mental health institutions. This support is translated to information for the family members, coping habilities and problema solving skills in group format, based in the contributions arised after a scientific literatura review. In this work are integrated different theoretical approaches like Anderson psychoeducational model (1983) and the behavioural intervention model of Fallon and Liberman (1983). The program incorporate the previous models the recent studies, related with situation and family intervention in severe mental pathology. Is highlighted from the previous the importance of work with the stigma, guilty feelings, excessive involvement and hostility that may appear in this group. Add to this is assertiveness training as a main protection factor and these informal caregivers life quality improvement, described according to García (2016).
