Abstract

This study gives, according to the literature, a synthesis of the origin of the thermal mineral-medicinal water. In addition, the study establishes the relationship between the physical-chemical properties of the waters, the geological characteristics of the springs and the therapeutic indications derived from these properties. To establish this relationship have been selected four spas (Mondariz, Alicún de las Torres, Caldes de Boí y Trillo). These represent the Spanish areas with more thermal mineral-medicinal water.
