Amplificador-Acondicionador de Señal en FBCT (Fast Beam Current Transformer) para la medida de intensidad en LINAC (Acelerador Lineal de Partículas)

Abstract

Una medida básica en instrumentación de aceleradores es el número de partículas que componen el haz, también llamada intensidad. Mediante un transformador de corriente se realiza una medida no destructiva, esta medida se debe acondicionar con un amplificador para su posterior procesado digital. Este trabajo muestra el diseño del amplificador, en el que se han seguido unas restrictivas especificaciones de diseño y se han minimizado las perturbaciones de la señal de interés. Para la consecución del objetivo marcado ha sido necesaria una primera fase de modelado del transformador mediante simulaciones y medidas tanto en el domino del tiempo como de la frecuencia, seguida de una segunda fase de simulaciones y medidas para el sintetizado del filtrado y amplificación utilizando el modelo del transformador previamente deducido. Por último, una vez verificado que el diseño cumple las especificaciones en la fase previa, se ha construido un prototipo completo para su validación en el laboratorio. En una fase futura que no cubre este trabajo, se verificará el sistema de medida de intensidad en modo nominal con el amplificador alojado en el acelerador.

A basic measurement in accelerator instrumentation is the number of particles that forms the beam, also called intensity. Using a current transformer a non-destructive measurement is performed, the measurement must be shaped by an amplifier for later digital process. This work shows the amplifier design, following restrictive design specifications and minimizing the perturbations in the interest signal. To reach the goal, it has been necessary a first stage to extract the transformer model by means of simulations and laboratory measurements in time and frequency domain, followed by a second stage of simulations and measurements for filter and amplification synthesis using the transformer model previously derived. Finally, once the design fulfils the specifications in the previous stage, a whole prototype has been built for laboratory validation. In a future stage not covered by this work the intensity, measurement system will be verified in nominal mode with the amplifier located in the accelerator.
