At the death of Anaxandridas, King of Sparta, Lakaedaemonian came to a situation of stasis due to the rivalry for the succession between two of the sons of Anaxandridas, Kleomenes and Dorieus. The first was choose by the Spartiats but the second did not want to be a subdit of his half-brother and searched for his own kingdom or a colonial polis. The paper deals to the reasons of the failure of Dorieus, due to a wrong interaction in the colonial space between Carthage and the natives.
