This document deals with the stability analysis of a Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control system (CACC) in a convoy of vehicles, in order to solve traffic congestion. A study of the art of current systems will be performed. The difference between an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and CACC system will be studied for string stability, highlighting what advantages V2V communication’s addiction includes. The communication delay in convoys of 3 vehicles are analyzed too. Finally, simulation tests and experimental implementation in a convoy formed by three Pioneer robots, will be conducted.
