The owner of any type of buildings and constructions has the legal duty of conservation them in the adequate conditions of security. This legal duty of conservation applies also in the case of cultural heritage, with the addition of the obligation of preserving their historical and cultural signification. The Catholic Church, as owner of cultural heritage, has the legal duty of conservation of this type of buildings and constructions in accordance to the legal framework, even though, Public Administration should be involved in this task and should collaborate with the Church for accomplishing this legal obligation

El propietario de toda clase de edificios y construcciones tiene el deber legal de conservarlos en las condiciones adecuadas de seguridad. Este deber de conservación se aplica también en el caso de los bienes histórico-artísticos, con el añadido de que es necesario también proteger su valor cultural. La Iglesia católica, en tanto que titular de bienes culturales, tiene el deber de conservarlos de acuerdo con la normativa aplicable, si bien en esta labor debe implicarse también la Administración, que tiene la obligación de colaborar con la Iglesia para esta finalidad
