Desde 1982, la prevención en España de lluvias intensas desde el punto de vista meteorológico ha experimentado un gran progreso, que se puede desglosar en tres vertientes: renovación tecnológica del Instituto Nacional de Meteorología (INM), adecuación de sus estructuras a la predicción y vigilancia permanentes, y relación con los organismos de protección civil. En el presente artículo se analizan dichas vertientes poniendo el acento en la renovación tecnológica, y remarcando los Eispectos positivos y las dificultades surgidas.
The meteorological forecast of heavy rains in Spain has experienced a big progress since 1982. This progress can be analizad in three aspects: technological updating at the Instituto Nacional de Meteorología (INM), adaptation of its stoictures to a permanent forecast and watch, and relationship with civil defense. In this article these three aspects are analized, stressing the technological updating and emphasizing the positive aspects and difficulties.
