Bemat Metge, el principal humanista de las letras catalanas manifiesta en el diálogo Lo somni (1399), junto a una encendida admiración por la figura del gran mentor del movimiento, un firme rechazo de la ideología moral del Secretum. Se exponen aquí los principales pasajes que recogen su actitud crítica, los cuales afectan principalmente, además de esta obra, al De remediis y a las Seniles XVII, el libro dedicado a la traducción del Griselda.
