Abstract

¿Por qué las personas que residen habitualmente en un país diferente al suyo no pueden votar en los procesos electorales que periódicamente se convocan para renovar los órganos de representación política?; ¿por qué tampoco pueden ser elegidos?; ¿qué impedimento existe para que las personas que son inmigrantes puedan disfrutar de ese derecho? Este trabajo intenta dar alguna respuesta a estos interrogantes y reivindica el derecho que puede ser considerado más difícil de conseguir, más utópico, por las personas que son inmigrantes: el derecho al sufragio activo y pasivo.
