In the 20th century, Mankind witnessed a phenomenon without precedent in the annals of Enlightened Europe: the influx of thousands of stateless persons and refugees who fled their native lands in search of protection, of thousands of human beings who had become superfluous. In these pages, we will try to demonstrate the superfluous character that refugees continue to have and how certain political and administrative measures taken during the last century persist to this day: the holding in quarantine of individuals in detention centers, the growth of the border security industry and in situ protection
En el siglo XX, la Humanidad fue testigo de un fenómeno sin precedentes en la historia de la Europa Ilustrada: la presencia de miles de apátridas y refugiados que huían buscando protección, de miles de seres humanos que se habían tornado superfluos.
