Los primeros pasos del movimiento estudiantil.

Authors: Fernández-Montesinos Gurruchaga, Andrea;

Los primeros pasos del movimiento estudiantil.

Abstract

Life at the University of Madrid during the fifties was characterized by the crisis of the oficial facist union (SEU), the growing political discontent of university students, and the policy tending towards a liberalisation of the regime (called aperturismo) led by the new Minister of Education. Besides we need to add the birth of a political minority of antifranco students and the presence of the Communist Party (PCE). In these circunstances a series of new cultural activities finaly led to the demand for a demcoratic Student Congres. The regimen inmediately imposed its represive system, but the student movement had begun.
