Franco: prestatario y deudor de aristocrátas y financieros

Abstract

The advent of the Republic was perceived by the elite as a potential threat against their class privileges. The outbreak of a military uprising was only a matter of time, because the Army embodied the power and morality represented by the Banking, the Church and the Monarchy, respectively. The financing of the coup could be provided by many others before Joan March, but for reasons that go beyond the political sphere, he was who, in the hope of restoring the monarchy took on such a mission. This communication reveals the main reasons that pushed the Banking magnate of Majorca to giving economic support for coup generals, while the film of Jaime Camino, Dragón Rapide (1986), portrays the true causes of the coup that led to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
