Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to study the anatomical arrangement of the vascular systems of the uterus and placenta during different age periods of pregnancy, and to show the relation of one to the other. The structural alterations in those circulatory systems following upon senile changes, and the relation of such changes to the blood content of those organs, will also be dealt with. The greater part of our present day knowledge of the placenta has been derived from investigation of the growth, disposition and change in its epithelium as be fits a glandular organ. [...]
