Cruise Report DEMETRA25
Cruise Report of the DEMETRA25 (Deep-sea Ecosystem Monitoring and Effective Technologies for Restoration Actions ) cruise on board of the Italian RV Gaia Blu in September-October 2025 in the Tyrrhenian Sea. DEMETRA25 cruise aims at monitoring restoration actions in the Gulf of Naples started in 2024 within the LIFE DREAM project, the Horizon Europe REDRESS project, and the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). The cruise focused on (i) the deployment of three multi-sensor tripods to monitor colonization of Artificial Reed Structures (ARS) and environmental conditions; (ii) the recovery and maintenance of hydrophones, cameras, and sensors deployed in 2024; (iii) the collection of colonization plates (ARMs) for the analysis of benthic colonization processes; and (iv) the exploration of unexplored canyon areas to identify new occurrences of CWC habitats.
