Los narcos van a Corea: globalización de la narconarrativa e inversión de la ola coreana en Narcosantos (2022) y Bogotá: Tierra de últimas oportunidades (2024)

Abstract

La reciente apropiación surcoreana de la narconarrativa latinoamericana evidencia una transformación estética y geopolítica en la cultura popular global. Las producciones Narcosantos (2022) y Bogotá: Tierra de últimas oportunidades (2024) no solo adaptan las convenciones del género —violencia, religiosidad, moralidad ambigua, sino que también reconfiguran su geografía simbólica al insertar a Corea del Sur en el mapa transnacional del narcomundo. Estas obras proyectan figuras migrantes coreanas que, desplazadas por el neoliberalismo, emergen como agentes de supervivencia en contextos latinoamericanos marcados por el crimen organizado. Lejos de ser una simple reproducción de estereotipos, estas representaciones articulan una crítica al capitalismo global a la vez que consolidan una narrativa de orgullo nacional. Al narrar el ascenso de coreanos en territorios considerados peligrosos y marginales, las obras resignifican el mito del éxito coreano y lo inscriben en un nuevo terreno simbólico. En este sentido, la narconarrativa funciona tanto como espejo como escenario, al ofrecer una vía para reflexionar sobre las condiciones precarias del sur global y, simultáneamente, para expandir los límites de la ola coreana como forma de softpower en el ámbito global.
