Abstract

Tesis (Magíster en Bioética)--Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, 2019 ; En este trabajo se estudia la muerte asistida (MA) desde el punto de vista de las consecuencias sociales. Para ello se investiga el fenómeno de la pendiente resbaladiza (PR), que consiste en la ampliación sucesiva e inevitable de las razones para practicar la MA, después de que esta práctica ha sido autorizada para situaciones inicialmente muy bien definidas y cuidadosamente delimitadas. Se analizan los datos disponibles en algunos países en que se ha legalizado la MA, en concreto: los Países Bajos, Bélgica y Colombia. Los resultados sugieren que se cumpliría este fenómeno y nos entregan más herramientas para el debate sobre una posible legalización de la MA en Chile.
